About Me

Tristen Orosco is a Payómkawish and Italian sungáal, a mother to two, and wife. She lives in part of her traditional Payómkawichum homelands, now known as Temecula. She attended college at San Francisco State University and received a Bachelor’s Degree in American Indian Studies. She then attended Midwives College of Utah and finished a Bachelor’s Degree in Midwifery. Along with her didactic work, she has apprenticed with many midwives across Southern California and at a high volume birth center in Washington State. She is a Certified Professional Midwife through the North America Registry of Midwives (NARM) and is a Licensed Midwife through the Medical Board of California.

She enjoys gardening, reading, traveling, and spending time with her family. She is committed to bringing midwifery care to Indigenous communities and promoting reproductive rights as an act of radical sovereignty. She incorporates ancestral teachings to her midwifery practice through the use of herbs, storytelling, and more.

Our philosophy is rooted in honoring the innate resilience of the human body to adapt, nurture life, and bring forth new generations—a sacred gift bestowed by the natural world. We deeply respect the spiritual essence within the birthing process, understanding it as a profound journey deserving of reverence and ceremony. Guided by this, we stand beside pregnant individuals, offering unwavering support and recognizing the profound significance of their birthing experience for both themselves and their baby. Through holistic midwifery care, education, and collaborative decision-making, we aim to cultivate meaningful connections and facilitate the flourishing of traditional birthing practices and outcomes.
